Slam Dunk Procedure

1. To remove old coating (omit if applying ‘Slam Dunk Gym Finish’ over existing stable coating), sand floor with Drum sander or use a floor machine with a 60 to 100 grit screen equivalent. After previous step (or if previous step omitted because coating over existing, stable coating), fine screen the floor with 120 to 280 grit. Inspect floor to ensure proper preparedness and repeat any necessary procedures as and if required.
2. Dust mop the floor with an untreated dust mop. Tac mop the floor using Ultra Floor Care ‘Cleaner and Conditioner’ at 1:128 (1 oz per gallon, 8ml per liter)
3. Apply three coats of Slam Dunk Gym Finish’. Coverage should be approximately: 1st coat =700 to 900 sq. ft per gallon. 2nd coat = 1000 to 1200 sq.ft. per gallon. 3rd and subsequent coats = 1,500 to 1,800 sq. ft. per gallon. Allow 45 to 60 minutes (or until completely dry) between coats.
4. Apply ‘Slam Dunk Finish’ with the grain with a lint free, hard string mop, lambs wool applicator, electric sprayer, or a professional wax applicator. Certain types of professional wood floor finish applicators may produce excessive foam during application.
5. For routine maintenance, dust mop floor with a synthetic untreated dust mop and clean with Ultra Floor Care ‘Cleaner & Conditioner diluted at 1:128 to 1:64 (1 to 2 oz per gallon, 8-16 ml per liter) with a clean dedicated mop. Periodically scrub and recoat as required.
